    We Have Help for Individuals Seeking Employment! Are you looking for a new job, or hoping to upgrade to a better one, in 2019? The Universal City Public Library is pleased to welcome a new volunteer, Kim Igleheart, to the library’s team. Kim, who recently retired from the Texas Workforce Commission as a workforce development specialist, is passionate about this work. She comes with wonderful references from job seekers she has helped in the past! Kim will provide drop-in job search assistance in the library computer lab on Saturdays from noon until 2:00 PM. Services include help with job search planning, resume creation, navigation of employment websites, and interview skills. A sign-up sheet will be at the desk when the library opens on Saturday mornings.

  10. Opening Doors to the Past: Genealogy Workshop

    Frank S. Faulkner, a Universal City resident and former genealogy librarian with the San Antonio Public Library, will offer two genealogy open houses in September. (The first will be September 10.) The format for these events is informal; participants are invited to choose the date that works best for them, and to bring their research, their questions, and their laptop computers. Space is limited to 10 people at each open house. Please call 210 659-7048 to make a reservation. Access to Ancestry.com and HeritageQuest Online are both available in the library.

    All U.C. residents are invited to join us in making this NNO Kickoff a success! NNO Block Parties are on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
