Employee Benefits

The following Benefits are available to all full-time employees:


 

HEALTH INSURANCE

Premiums for employee coverage are paid by the City.
Premiums for dependent coverage are paid by the employee.
 

DENTAL INSURANCE


Premiums for employee coverage are paid by the City.
Premiums for dependent coverage are paid by the employee.
  

VISION INSURANCE


Premiums for employee and dependent coverage are paid by the employee

LIFE INSURANCE


Premiums for $25,000 in coverage for the employee are paid by the City.
Optional life insurance coverage up to 3 times the employee's annual salary is also available.

TMRS ( TX Municipal Retirement System)


Employees contribute 7% of their gross pay each pay period. The City match is 2 to 1.

ICMA


An optional 457 retirement plan is available for employee participation.
 

VACATION/SICK LEAVE

Full time employees accrue vacation and sick leave each pay period.

LONGEVITY PAY


Additional pay at a rate of $4.00 per month for each completed year of service.

CERTIFICATION PAY

 
Additional pay for Police, Fire, Municipal Court, Animal Shelter, and Public Works employees for obtaining specific certifications that are not listed as a requirement in the employee's job description is paid at a rate of $25 per month for each certification level up to $100 per month maximum.
